A genesis series of quilling, born out of anxiety, grounded in hope!
Shhhh……The artist has developed her creative style as a result of struggling with, now navigating, anxiety. Her artwork expresses the need to divert anxious thoughts! Maria finds that the tactile focus of winding, tearing and combining colors, quiets the anxious noise and allows for peaceful thoughts to trickle in!
About The White Piece! So if you look very closely at the white framed, 5x5 quilling pieces currently on display at The Narrows Center for the Arts……you will discover a small white piece. “The white piece represents the light within me. Shoved in the chaos yet something light still remains. As the anxious moments ease and I can see more clearly, I know for certain there is beauty within the chaos. That within me, my light remains even during dark, hectic and oh so troublesome times. The PIECE within truly becomes my PEACE within!”
